Announcements:

King is writing a serialized book, called The Green Mile, which began coming out in March 1996, in 96-page paperback form. It is set in a Southern prison in 1932 and is about prisoners waiting for the death penalty. King likes this idea, because readers can't skip to the end.

Desperation, a new novel, is due out in limited edition in Spring 1996. The "normal" hardcover version should appear in September 1996. To get info on the limited edition, see Donald Grant's site.   [Go Live]
The story: Just off Route 50 in Nevada lies the small town of Desperation, where a local cop has turned anything but lawman. His victims were the lucky ones. But for a small group of survivors, desperation is no longer just the name of a town -- it's a state of mind. And it will take an extraordinary young boy to lead them through a living nightmare.

There is a new Bachman book coming, called The Regulators, due out September 1996. It's somehow related to Desparation, or so the rumors say.
The story: It's a summer afternoon in Wentworth, Ohio, and on Poplar Street everything is normal ... except for the red van idling just up the hill. Soon it will begin to roll, and the madness will begin. And by the time night falls, the surviving residents will find themselves in another world, one where anything is possible ... and where the Regulators are on their way.

Dark Tower IV: Wizards & Glass is due out in Summer, 1997. (No more rumors .. this is from the Green Mile.)
